Bicycle parking has historically been a sturdy, colorless lump reaching from the sidewalk.We wanted to build infrastructure that reflects the intricacies of our changing environment – functional artwork.

It took us two years to get this going, with incredible support from Leah, Eric and Carrie from the Santa Fe MPO.

Each rack is bent by hand, with a custom watercolor patina applied. Gestural colors echo the movement of the rack, undulating in and out of the concrete.

Additionally, Bike Santa Fe invested funds to promote rack installations across town – offering a substantial subsidy to local businesses. Our first proud partner was the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, who surprised us with a blue ribbon cutting ceremony!
