In 2024 we developed a makerspace at the Santa Fe Teen Center. This is a space where teens are encouraged to develop relevant life skills for our shifting world, and to think critically about their relationships with materials, work, and community.

We have strategically introduced a variety of resources which are applicable for a wide variety of careers in Creative and Technical Industries. Even more importantly, however, this makerspace addresses the need for a space that minimizes mindless stimulation and focuses on harnessing creative energy.

This is where you can work, rest, create, and collaborate with other Teens, – while developing relevant skills for our uncertain future.

Fashion Design Studio

Engage with our sewing equipment and learn how to design and fabricate your own product line, repair and modify your clothes, and build functional bags out of recycled materials.

Learn how to modify, repair, and build bicycles for fun and transportation. Participants can integrate with our Sewing Studio equipment and build their own bicycle bags! We are also exploring 3D printing accessories for our bicycles – flashlight and water bottle mounts, cable routing guides, and more.

Stop The Bleed Classes

Develop critical life saving skills, and learn how to stop bleeding using a tourniquet and direct pressure. Additionally, learn how to administer Naloxone for opioid overdoses.
