Enoch here, hello everyone.
Oh, New Mexico. In all your beauty, you inspire and reduce our tiny little bodies into shiny fluttering pieces. Thank you.
It’s now July, and almost the end of it. Eye blistering, skin peeling. The seeds of the summer have been planted – the wind whispers of Fall. We have fallen into new ways, too.
We’re working on updated curriculum that allows us to engage with REANIMATOR a little differently than normal – redefining what it looks like to operate a small business at the twisting end of What We Know Currently.
New Energetics!

Erin was one of our first participants in the Sewing Bike Tour, and now she’s back with a vengeance. After co-directing the latest Wilderness Medicine Bicycle Expedition (read the writeup here!!!) she’s now officially part of the team. Erin brings fresh perspective from her multifaceted background of sewing, bicycle touring, and endurance racing.
wwwhhhhshshshshhssssssshhhhhhho))) This is also a future whisper of changing our core legal structure to reflect our values…………….
Light is responsibility shared. Light is fun. Slow is Fast.
We’re excited to work together and expand out pattern offerings to include multifunctional gear for hiking and being an outdoor human. Stay tuned, we’re feeling quite fancy and will be releasing more sewing patterns you can print on a standard sewing machine! Check out our DIY page for our current offerings, and if you want to see more things on the list, let us know.
Scope Reduction

I moved to Taos, NM at the beginning of the month to learn herbal medicine with Herbal Medics Academy, and to put my EMT certification to work in the Emergency Room!
My focus is to concentrate my energy into expanding my knowledge as a competent medical professional, for front country and austere environments. This will trickle down into our current programs – with next year offering more Wilderness First Aid certifications.
This transition has come with an exchange – I now live in a converted school bus, with a small small footprint! Needless to say there’s a bit more objects in the Energy Exchange that could use a home, if anyone is wanting some discounted special equipment that I made!
Pecha Kutcha Presentation

Join us at SITE SANTA FE on Thursday, August 28, from 6–8PM. I’ll be presenting REANIMATOR: Life, Death, and the Threads Between – where I’ll summarize my origins as a human, the origins of REANIMATOR – and how to find meaning and purpose in the current apocalypse.
It’ll be a hoot! The Pecha Kucha format is really interesting – “where speakers use 20 slides and speak for 20 seconds on each slide, resulting in a total presentation time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds.”
This month’s nutritional sponsor: Chenopodium album / “Lambsquarter” (wild spinach, goosefoot)

What a lovely lovely little plant! Full of vitamins, fast growing, and tasty as hell. Very fun writeup here!
Side note: I’m currently experimenting with making a tea from the leaves, and brewing a batch of kombucha with it.I’ll keep y’all posted.
There’s a bit of a back and forth between brewers whether you need a tea with tannins in it for optimal SCOBY health, but I’ve been experimenting with making the first brew with only Lavender and sugar, and it’s jaw dropping, stunning, heart peeling goodness.
That’s all we’ve got here, as the light descends across the mountains – painting light blue.
Talk to you soon,
Enoch
